I'm Michael The lawn, your host for the next few minutes as we chat with financial expert and business owner John Browning. Well, John Browning, and I hope things are going well and I hope you're enjoying the swimming that you're doing. That I'm not. So how are you today, Jo and great to me. I'm probably after this I'll probably just go jump in the pool. Great, thanks for rotting in. I'm still I'm still at least...

...two weeks, if not a month, away from getting in there, so got to get out of this place. Hey, let's talk not about swimming in swimming pools, let's talk about this, this term I keep hearing about. I'm not exactly sure what it all means. That I figured you probably do. It's comprehensive wealth management. What is that? I keep hearing it from different places. What is it? What is comprehensive wealth management? Well, you know so this first. Let's talk about that word wealth first, because a lot of times I hear I'm not wealthy, I don't have wealth. Yeah, well, if you have anything saved, you know, if you got anything besides your emergency fund, and even then there's some reasons why you might want to have wealth management and comprehensive wealth management. So it's not just that portfolio management where you just manage the securities in the portfolio in a...

...way that makes sense for the individual, but it's a whole host of other things. So comprehensive meaning we look at your whole picture. Now, Michael, I am not an expert in taxes. I know enough to make me dangerous and be able to I know enough that I can ask in really intelligent questions to a guy who is an expert. Okay, that'll work. And I know enough to alert you, if you're my client, to say you might want to ask your accountant about x, Y or Z. Yeah, same thing on the legal side. I know enough about trusts and how they are, how they work and how they're put together to be able to ask the intelligent question to the attorney to save you some time and money so you're not like running around and circles and he's not understanding, he or she is...

...not understanding what you really need. If I know your situation, I've gotten to know you, I can ask those questions, save you some money and put you in touch with the right attorney for your situation. The right is state lawyer for you're a situation. Yeah, and that. You know what that does. That protects your well. Good. Yeah, both on that. You're not being too much in taxes and you have the right estate plan set up so that it doesn't disappear overnight with a lawsuit or something else in another big component of this is your insurance because, unfortunately, like every other one, whether you go to the auto shop or wherever you go, there are really great insurance guys out there and there are really not great insurance guys out there. Same thing in wealth management, same thing with attorney. Same thing. Was He all you just it's tough right. Yeah, are you...

...being taken advantage of because you don't know enough to know? So? Being a produciary financial advisor, I build a team insurance guys, tax guys, legal guys and, frankly, even though several other folks we talked about long term care, I'm talking to a lot of baby boomers around that age, people my age, who are trying to figure out how can we afford, how can mom and Dad Afford Long Term Care? They need it now and it cost about ten grand a month and the least where I live to have them with full time care. Ten grand a month times twelve times, however many years, it's very expensive. Who's the right person? I have a great, right, great lady who assisted living locators. We did a guest podcast with her not too long ago. He can help you navigate those waters and you can have the confidence that she's somebody that you can trust. Talk...

...about building your life now as opposed to just saving everything, not having any fun, not really living life now and saving for what may happen in the future. I even have folks in the crew's planning industry that I work with that will set you up with a reasonably priced but fun thing you know, and I have a whole team that I put her aunt. That's what we call comprehensive wealth management and it's something that you it's one of the reasons I wanted to be independent is so that I could build that team. And there I don't get anything. They don't get me any kickbacks. I don't get anything from leaving guy, from the tax guy, they don't get anything back. But he put you in touch with the right people and he talked about saving time. That's a real, big time saver, but it's also a real, big emotional sabor because you're bringing to the table people who are already vetted, who are already trustworthy, who work with you not just with one...

...client but with multiple clients. So they're going to perform their best and and that's part of the benefit of working with John and Guardian rock wealth is you know that there's this this codre of advisors that you can gain access to when it's needed. So you may need an estate plan drawna right. Well, you work with John and get that done. You don't. You don't need that person anymore for a while. Maybe updated once in a while, but you don't have to go search google to find out. You know a state planner and carrying in my area. You just called John and say John, here's here's what I'm thinking, and then John, because it works with you right, you understand the whole lay of the land, per se, the whole portfolio, the whole dynamic. So you help them and I bet a lot of those papers that attorneys need in CPS need, you probably have access to lots of them, which helps. That's time saving in and on itself.

Right. Well, next time it's it's actually a really busy time for me answer why. You're not a you're not an account you're not a CPA, you're not doing taxes as well. I would say probably fifty percent of my clients are like it. Gets to be taxed time in their account. That's asking for things and they've gotten them but they don't know where they are right. I have those at my fingertips. It's, I just considered, a part of our the service that we provide, and as long as you give me permission, I will talk directly with the account and I will get them what they need and then you just have to sign the paperwork at the end of it. And that's the same way we work with the insurance folks and the and the legal folks as well. Get you the right guy and we can provide the paperwork. We help you so you don't have to search through the files. Yep, because we try and do that right up front. We try and get all those papers in in one spot of front so that you don't have to worry about that anymore. Another way we help them sleep at night. Right. It is, it really is. It's funny...

...because you mentioned that my wife walked in. She's my bookkeeper. She walked into my office the other day and I was doing something and I looked at her with a smile on my face, of course, and she has her phone in her hand. She's like here, will you tell these people it's the bank or somebody shit? Will you give them permission to talk to me, because your names on the account, but I need to talk to them. I'm like hi, yes, so, because I don't want to talk to them and I love the fact that you can do that. And Yeah, when you can talk directly to the CPA or whoever is, the thing is, John, no, it doesn't save your client time. You speak the same language as a CPA. I don't need to translate between the two and go he and he needs something. I don't know what he need. That's great that that in and of itself is a huge, huge service, if people will take you up on it. Yeah, it's a real time shaver for people, I think, and it for you to me right, because if you spend a bunch of time with your with your attorney or whatever in your trying to think of it or trying to find it, you know...

...it cause you time, but also it actually saves me time because I can sort of get in front of things. Right. Yeah, absolutely, absolutely, and that's more's all. That's all part of building this portfolio that supports your life now and later, and it's part of preplanning, and I mean preplaying, your tax situation because you you understand what's going on in all the investments and how to all plays out in which one's paid. I mean there's it's so complex, John. I think it's what it drives most of us nuts in what you do and the taxes and is like Ha. So I'm just glad that you're around. I want people to reach out to you, have conversations with you and just talk, because the first conversation is just conversation. That's all it is. You can text John at Twenty Onezero.
